Bibliophile's Reached 100 Subscribers!!!

...and that means a giveaway!

Hello, everyone! It seems so long since my last post of this summer. 🤯 I can’t believe it’s almost the end of September!! Yikes.

Today’s post is a bit long, so hang in there. We’re going to start with giveaway info (because I know that’s why you clicked on this post 😉) and then end with some reflection and plans for a future Bibliophile’s.

Giveaway:

I have been waiting for this moment for so long. When other bloggers do giveaways, I’m always entering and having fun, so I am super excited to host one myself!

It was a blast assembling the prize and making sure all the colors coordinated! I must say, though, that my favorite part was photographing and creating the image below. 🥰

The prize is technically a “blind-date-with-a-book” so I won’t tell you what the book is (but if you already know, please don’t spoil it for others!) because I think surprises are fun (some of you might not think so 😆), but I will drop hints that the book is:

• Fiction

• Contains Christian themes and a beautiful representation of God’s love

• Is set in the South

• Has clean romance and no language

• Has an ending that tears your heart apart but then pieces it right back together with the epilogue

• A deep and emotive tale that will stay with you long after you close the covers

• Content: heavy notes of neglect, self harm, and suicide, all handled in a godly, biblical manner. I personally would recommend this book to anyone ages 15 and older.

This story is one of my all-time favorites, labeled “4ever fave” in my reading journal. Honestly, I've contemplated giving away another book because I love this one so much, and I haven’t purchased my own copy yet, even though I enjoy rereading it so much! 😄

Reflection and continuing onward:

A Bibliophile’s Notebook started as a place to post book reviews, recommendations, and author and writer interviews. Along the way, photos and musings were shared and this Substack evolved into something I did not anticipate.

A couple of months after I published Bibliophile’s first post, I changed the logo. I’m very glad I did because I absolutely love the new one and feel it fits what I’m writing much better. I used to send out monthly newsletters through MailerLite, a joyful hassle that I looked forward to every month. I posted every Wednesday morning and didn’t really experience burning out.

Summer changed my schedule, and I began posting once a month. I started utilizing Substack’s newsletter tool, which shortened drafting time significantly.

Nowadays, I plan on posting once a month, usually on the second Wednesday, and will send out Substack newsletters on the last Wednesday of the month. There will be many more book reviews and recommendations, and fewer glimpses through the lens and musings. This is A Bibliophile’s Notebook after all! If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on life and faith and looking at my photos, you can find those over on my other Substack, postscript. Just to be clear, though, Bibliophile’s will still have Christian themes, and posts will continue to be written through a biblical lens!

Bibliophile’s will always remain free to read. I truly enjoy posting here and think book reviews and recommendations should remain free for all to utilize in their pursuit of their next clean book.
