Hello, dear reader!
First and foremost, THANK YOU for choosing to be here. I know how busy life is and I hope you know from the bottom of my heart how grateful I am that you want to read my words, right here, right now.
Who am I?
Well, my name is Nicole Goodrum and I am a homeschooled high schooler, an entrepreneur, photographer, voracious reader, one of six girls, aunt to two adorable little boys, and above all, a daughter of the King.
I have the fortunate (or unfortunate??) ability to be sucked into picture books, and to devour anywhere from two to fifteen in one sitting…and yes, I just admitted that. I like to think I’m a well-read reader; I enjoy sci-fi (the Lunar Chronicles, anyone??) all the way to the classics (I’m swooning over here, Mr. Darcy!). Self-help books are sprinkled throughout my year and inspirational historical fiction and realistic fiction like Christy by Catherine Marshall is my where I’m most at home. Childhood favorites include Ramona Quimby, Anne of Green Gables, the Little Women, and so many more!
…
I think you get that I like books…but did you also know I have an addiction to researching good, clean stories? Yup, like almost every other reader, my TBR is taller than me and overwhelming. *sigh* So many books, so little time!
A couple of years ago, I realized that I enjoyed reading more than writing stories. In my top secret portfolios and online documents, you can find short stories, concepts, poems, and unfinished drafts of novels.
They will never see the light of day.
Or at least until I feel called to write again.
But in the meantime, I am on mission to discover, read, and review as many books as I can! I have a passion for helping others be aware of the contents of a book (more on that in my About page).
What is A Bibliophile’s Notebook?
A Bibliophile’s Notebook is an online cove for weary readers, young authors, and many other individuals seeking wonder, a good book, and reflections from a Christian bibliophile.
For the weary reader: you can expect book reviews, book recommendations, books to DNF, how-to’s, and so much more exciting content! Note: not every single review of the books I read will be posted here though; you can find that on my Goodreads.
For the young writer or author: All I can say is, you have my support! Email me if you are a writer of the King and I would love to get to know you and support your work by subscribing to your website, reading your work, and/or featuring you in a future blog!
Parents and others: I’m so happy you found your way here! Please feel free to wander around and get to know this place.
Why did I create A Bibliophile Notebook?
Hop over to my About page to find out more. But in summary, as a researcher at heart, I was always on the hunt for thorough, clear, spoiler-free reviews of the books I wanted to read. Most of the time, I could not find reviews that fit my criteria so an idea began forming in the back of my mind. What if I created a blog where I warn readers about the contents in books and recommend my clean favorites? This idea expanded to encompass my desire to support young writers and authors seeking to glorify the Lord with their words and to share my thoughts and photography journey. A Bibliophile’s Notebook is the product of my idea. :) Credit does not belong to me though. It is for the glory of the Lord that I write and share. It is to Him I hope I ultimately point you to.

Soli Deo gloria,

I love this so much! That's awesome that you're one of six girls---I'm one of five (four girls and one boy who's the youngest). I love all of your favorite books (especially Anne of Green Gables and Little Women)! It's so nice to meet you!
