I read Jane Eyre and it was a great book.

But.

Twenty year age gap and too many red flags.....eeek.

Beautiful prose, though.

A beloved book! So many film and tv adaptations of the novel to explore, too.

That’s my next step - watching all the adaptations. 🤩

I did Jane Eyre for highschool one year (...I used to confuse that book with Jane Austen too, so you're not alone XD.) I remember thinking I might not like such a long book, but was so glad I was wrong! I ended up really liking it, though Rochester and St. John were not favorites of mine lol.

Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books, though it's been a while since I've read it. The Bronte sisters were amazing.

I love Jane Eyre! Thank you so much for the thoughtful review, Nicole!

I'm not doing the Summer Reading Challenge; I did, however, just list a few books for July and August. I'm reading A Tale of Two Cities and Devotions by Mary Oliver in July, and probably Persuasion and another book in August. That way, I have books to focus on reading--and I can add in others if I wish!

Lovely post! I very much enjoyed it. 📚

Oooh, those are great books to read. You'll have to tell me which one was your favorite when you finish them all. 😁 I love A Tale of Two Cities and Persuasion. 🤩

I’ve seen this book talked about in the classics circle a lot, so I’ve wanted to read it. I’ve heard so many people say that the men in the book make it aggravating to read as well… but upon reading this post, I think it’s definitely something I’d enjoy. I love Jane Austen, but she one of the only classic authors I’ve read, and I’m on a journey to remedy that. Thanks for your review!!
